A sun shade is an RV awning accessory that can provide a little added privacy somewhere, help block UV rays, reduce glare, and give you a cool space to sit outside. A Sun Shade is an attachment for your awning that allows a drop-down sheet of mesh to be staked into the ground. This mesh increases the shade the awning provides and can be staked into the ground.

The sun shade can be installed in one of two main ways. The first way is to insert the shade screen into a groove in the awning track and pull it through to extend the awning’s length.

The second way is to install a portion of the screen into the awning that will stay permanently. The rest of the wind shade screen can be zipped into this permanently installed sleeve whenever needed. The zippered portion then rolls up with the awning roller tube and the fabric.

In addition to zippered and non-zippered awning sun shades, there are options for a front RV awning and a side RV awning. Adding a side sun shade is a great way to add additional sun protection to your outdoor area. These sun shades work with both factory and replacement awnings and manual and electric awnings.
